STUDENTS-ENTREPRENEUR MEET
National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) organised an event at International School of Informatics and Management (ISIM), Mansarovar to introduce students to Star Agri, a new company short-listed among the top 30 finalists for the TATA NEN Hottest Startups Awards 2009. Star Agri is the only company from Rajasthan to have been short-listed for the awards, which are the first-ever people and experts' choice awards launched jointly by NEN and Tata to support and showcase potential young companies across the country. Speaking on the occasion, Amit Agarwal, one of the four founders of Star Agri, said his company name into existence in 2006 and it was good to see it make it to the list of top 30 high potential companies, 'Star Agri is a post harvest agri-services company and it provides post-harvest services like facilitating the movement of final agricultural product to various industries, providing finance to agriculturists etc,' Agarwal said. Rashmi Sharma, human resource manager with Star Agri, said new and growing companies offer better learning and scope to management students as they get to show their knowledge and expertise to create permanent and functional system in each department.
NEN Consultant Sharad Karma said the purpose of organizing the programme was to give an opportunity to the management students of the city to interact with the high potential entrepreneurs and know about their start up companies.
