“Wyn Brands is servicing some important customers. If the trend is continued and long-term supply contracts are locked up, it can well be a key strength of the company that can act as a major deterrent for new competition.

Also, the value of contract is critical. The company should become equipped enough to answer the following: Can we do long term contracting? Can we do contract-farming assuring a regular supply of the produce?

The company might find scaling up difficult. We have seen businesses in this space grow to a certain stage and then falter on the growth curve. Therefore, the company's focus should be on building a fully integrated solution with large scale storage and distribution infrastructure.
The right combination of private equity and bank debt will be the ideal funding source for this company. Large scale investments will be required in several large well equipped depots in all major metros of the country, a sophisticated hub-and-spoke model for delivery, reefer trucking services, etc. All of this can be partially debt funded.

Venture capital/Bank loans will be available if there are some:

- Long-term supply contracts locked up
- Key customers are defined and ready to trade with the company on a long-term basis” < Back

Seems like a growing business with a marquee customer list. Has achieved breakeven, as well. Identified a relatively humdrum need (no offence meant!) and seems to have honed in to satisfy the same. Well placed to prosper as the increasing disposable incomes of urban consumers translates into growth for the business. Has the corollary (and much required) positive impact on the rural hinterland. < Back

The firm is addressing a much felt market need. Considering the poor supply chain infrastructure for agri-products, providing the backward linkage for fresh produce ? with value added services - is a good idea.

The concept would face competition from other firms like RKHS, agri-extension services of agri-produce businesses, and the firms planning to offer fresh produce at a wholesale level (e.g. Khet Se from Tatas).

Introducing modern practices to agriculture and rural areas would help in capturing value in the agri supply chain. Scale and efficiency will be critical in building a successful business.
