Cricket and Web 2.0 would ceratinly be an interesting combination. The site is at a very early beta stage, so it is difficult to evaluate it for content, navigation and usability, and specifically it's efficacy as a Web 2.0 platform.

Whatever little is there, seems to be competently done. But it is very very little (just some blogging, some photos and sketchy content).

Much more needs to be done to bring this site up to expectations of cricket fans. There is a good potential for a revenue model, because we are a cricket-mad public, and some kind of advertising or affiliate based revenue flow will be inevitable.

But there has to be a clearly articulated business and marketing development plan to make that happen to an extent great enough to make it a viable and sustainable business.

Either this planning has not been done, or it has not been submitted. The rating primarily reflects the very early nature of the enterprise, the lack of evidence of hard-headed business planning, and the resulting unpredictability of business results.

There are already lot of cricket related sites with good customer base. Therefore it is important for O Cricket to provide clarity on the unique proposition it is offering.

Their competitors cricinfo and cricketnext already have huge fan base. O Cricket should effectively plan how they plan to lure that fan base into their sight. Socio-networking alone might not cut the deal..
