SadakMap.com has built a unique online application for developing countries such as India where most places do not have geo location data. Our framework mobilizes the user community to plot places on the map and have discussions going around them. We aim to bring to the map, all the nuances that a country like India has to offer, from its historical places down to its popular food places. Essentially what we have developed is a blog-on-a-map. This map-based application backed with visitor statistics (which areas of the map are visited more often than others) offers advertising revenue possibilities in a 2-dimensional space.

Unlike traditional web-pages, the content on SadakMap.com is fronted on a 2-dimensional map that is easy to use and visually appealing. We give the reign in the hands of the users pulling all stops allowing them to plot away. We take care of the Search Engine Optimisation for them; making sure that information sought on search engines will find the marks they have made on SadakMap. Our users have found it attractive to own a SpotMe Url which shows their approximate location on the map that they can share with friends. Groups of friends/families have created groups on the map to keep in touch with each other as well as to show where on the world map they are located. Finally, its cool to see places pop up on the map and be able to explore them as they do.

| What keeps the team awake at night? |
One practical reason that keeps us awake most nights is the fact that that's when the site activity is low and we get to push out software updates to the site. Backups, applying patches, testing can only be safely attempted during late nights to keep site disruptions to a minimum. What keeps us tossing in our beds, though, is the endless to-do list and the possibilities we see with our dot-com. So come next day we are back at it all over again - with a smile. |
